Oli, Dahal pay back Lingden in same coin - The Himalayan Times - Nepal's No.1 English Daily Newspaper

Newly elected Chair of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Rajendra Lingden got a befitting reply from CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli for berating political leaders.

Addressing the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress here today, Lingden said people in villages hated political leaders and called them ‘thieves’ out of their frustration against them.

Later, when Dahal came to address the inaugural session, he did not name Lingden while asking, “You have heard a speaker say that people across villages called leaders ‘thieves’, but is that true?” Participants shouted no. Dahal said those who wanted to impose autocracy in the country were trying to defame leaders. Dahal said countless people had sacrificed their lives for political gains, but it was bizarre that leaders who made pledges during political agitation did not keep their word.

Oli also flayed Lingden for his tirade. He said Lingden who believed in monarchy ignoring people’s self-pride was now trying to defame leaders. “He has just become RPP president. He is like a new-born calf that does not know how to walk,” Oli said.
